The message at church on Sunday has been resonating through my head for the past few days... and I wanted to share that with you. Feel free to read it, reflect and share what it means to you. It included both our scripture and a poem that our pastor shared with us. I'm going to wait to share my reflections on this until the end of the week because I want others to reflect and post...
“Justified by Faith”
Romans 5:1-5
1 Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through
our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have obtained access to this
grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of
God. 3 And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that
suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and
character produces hope, 5 and hope does not disappoint us, because God's
love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been
given to us.
“Colors”
John Homer Winslow
Your living is determined not so much
by what life brings to you,
as by the attitude you bring to life;
not so much by what happens to you,
as by the way your mind looks at what happens.
Circumstances and situations do color life,
but you have been given the mind and faith
to choose what the color shall be.
About Me
I'm just a girl embarking on life...
...challenging myself to make each day even better than today. My blog will tell you about me and my perspectives on the one life I have to live. Take it or leave it... it's me!
I'm most engaged in life when I'm surrounded by people like my family and friends, however I truly enjoy my "self" time when I'm gardening and running. Traveling is one of my greatest passions. In September I'll journey to Taiwan and Hong Kong!
My life in Madison, Wisconsin has just begun... so far it includes a wonderful job and volunteering with the Dane County Farmer's Market and Olbrich Gardens. My greatest endeavor in 2009 includes leading a team to run in the Seattle Marathon on June 27 with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training Program.

This is one of my favorite passages. In fact, we chose it to be read at Elizabeth’s memorial service. Its message of hope and God’s love is timeless. Sometimes I joke that I surely must have enough character by now, but I know only God knows what’s in store for me and my family. We must trust and have hope in the love that doesn’t disappoint. How special, though not surprising, it is meaningful to you, too.
